The DC Arts & Access Network (DCAAN) is a consortium of arts leaders from the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area, who have a passion for making our cultural venues and programs accessible to people with disabilities.
Founded in November 2014, DCAAN looks to connect cultural venues and organizations with the disability community. Since, January 2015, our Steering Committee, volunteers from local arts institutions, venues, and organizations, have dedicated themselves to making the arts accessible for everyone by ensuring DCAAN is a vehicle for inclusionary information.
Our community calendar lists performances, events, and programs in the Washington, DC area with accessibility services. This includes audio description, open captioning, sign-interpreting, sensory friendly programs, touch tours, non-verbal ASL events, and professional development for arts administrators from theaters, museums, parks, zoos, and other cultural venues.
Options that became available during the worldwide event of 2020 are now also part of offerings that you can search for on the community calendar.
