Morning at the Museum (MATM) is a free, sensory-friendly program for children, teenagers, and young adults who are neurodivergent and their families in which they can visit a Smithsonian museum prior to opening on designated Saturday or Sunday mornings. Monthly programs rotate between Smithsonian museums. Registration is required. Pre-registered families visit one Smithsonian museum before it opens to the public, where they can participate in activities or explore the exhibitions independently at their own pace. Prior to each program, pre-registered families receive “pre-visit” materials to help them prepare for their visit including social narratives, sensory maps, visual schedules, and tip sheets. Similar pre-visit materials are available to help families plan for visits that take place outside of MATM program hours. These pre-visit materials can be found in the “Resources” section of the Office of Visitor Accessibility website.

    Sister Act Sensory-Friendly Performance

    April 26, 2025

    Sister Act: Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 2 p.m.

We are thrilled to offer Sensory-Friendly performances of our productions of A Christmas Carol and Sister Act this season! The adjustments for these dedicated performances will provide a family-friendly environment. We welcome anyone who may benefit from an adjusted theatrical environment.

Sister Act is a riotous musical comedy smash based on the hit film that has audiences jumping to their feet! To escape the mob, a nightclub singer hides in a convent. While there, she helps her new sisters discover their powerful voices while she finds her own. This uplifting, Tony-nominated musical features original music by Alan Menken (Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors). It is directed and choreographed by Jeff Calhoun (Broadway: Newsies, Ford’s: Violet, The Civil War, Freedom’s Song, Shenandoah). Awa Sal Secka as Deloris Van Cartier leads a powerhouse cast of D.C. favorite actors.

Please call (202) 347-4833 to purchase tickets. Learn more about the Ford’s Theatre 2024-2025 season and accessibility options at the links below.
